From Institutional Care to Supported Living

2026 has seen local authorities across the UK are moving away from traditional residential care models and are working urgently to reduce the "bed-blocking" crisis in hospitals. This shift has created a high demand for the Supported Living model, requiring care providers and local authorities to find high-quality, community based housing at pace.

As a not-for-profit social enterprise, our mission is aligned with yours. We aren't driven by profit; our focus is on providing the community based homes required to support the long term independence of the vulnerable adults we house.

If you are an adult care provider in Kent looking to move your care recipients toward a supported living environment, please enquire at contact@mareporta.co.uk . We are happy to answer your questions and can provide a free physical information pack upon request.

How we support care providers

We understand that for care providers to deliver quality care and support, they need a property partner who prioritises safety, communication and long-term stability. By managing the complexities of property sourcing and maintenance, we allow your team to focus entirely on what matters most: the well-being of the individuals in your care.

Inclusive Communication & Easy Read Contracts

We work with external landlords to find and adapt homes specifically for the people you support. Beyond the physical building, we take care of the tenancy management and handle all local authority housing claims. By managing the paperwork and the property, we remove the administrative burden from your team so you can focus entirely on providing care.

We know that clear communication is essential for safe placements. Our office team works directly with your Registered Managers to handle the details, from coordinating new move-ins to keeping property records updated. We act as a professional partner to ensure houses stay compliant so your care teams can stay informed and focused.

Safety and continuity are non-negotiable. Every member of our team is Enhanced DBS checked and specifically trained to work respectfully within care environments. We provide on-call maintenance staff, ensuring that property issues are resolved immediately by people you can trust, without disrupting the residents' daily routines

Transparency shouldn't be complicated. We provide Easy Read documents and contracts so that care recipients and their families fully understand their housing rights. We make sure the provider, the family and the local authority are all kept in the loop regarding any changes, ensuring everyone has a voice.

From Kent to national partnerships, Mareporta manages the property side of supported living so you can focus on the care. We invite dedicated providers to join our Approved Provider List.

Voices from our community

"Whether it’s the office team helping us navigate complex regulations with the local authority or the maintenance crew being on call for an emergency repair, they are always there when we need them. It’s a weight off our shoulders knowing the properties are in such good hands."
"I recently worked alongside the Mareporta maintenance team on a joint project. Seeing their hands-on approach and how quickly they resolve issues was impressive. They genuinely care about the quality of the homes they provide, which makes them a great partner to work with."
